That’s the powerful principle behind The Kindness Pantry, a 24/7, no-barrier community pantry.

Launched and operated by Gen and Ida of ABC Homes N Services, the Kindness Pantry in Charmhaven builds on successful, real-world models:

  • The original Pantry for the People in Botany, founded by Rachel Smith
  • The Petit Pantry in Waverley, initiated and run by Gen and Ida
  • And now, The Kindness Pantry, serving the Central Coast from ABC Homes N Services’ Charmhaven SIL property.

This project is not theoretical. It’s been tried, tested, and trusted—and is now expanding to meet rising community need in a new region.

Our Objectives

  • Provide accessible food and hygiene essentials with dignity and anonymity, 24/7
  • Foster community connection and shared responsibility
  • Partner with local businesses and services to build sustainable support systems
  • Act as a replicable model for other communities seeking grassroots, low-barrier food relief
